The Franco-Spanish association of Chemistry and Physics of the Solid State will hold next year their biannual meeting: “VI Franco-Spanish Meeting on Chemistry and Physics of the Solid State” in Tarragona form 17th to 20th March, 2010. Associated to this conference and just after it will be held an International Workshop on Solid State Lasers (SSL) entitled “Solid State Lasers. 50 years later” to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the discovery of this type of lasers.

The organising committee expect to offer a forum to exchange opinions in order to revise the evolution of lasers from its discovery, to analyse the current situation of these devices and to debate future strategies through speakers with a relevant and recognized career in this field from the USA, Japan and Europe. Invited speakers of the workshop are:
