This projects aims to develop an adaptive optics (AO) prototype for visual science in a laboratory at the CNR-IPCF Unit of Support of Cosenza (Italy). The candidate will also work in an Ophthalmology clinical site (Fondazione G.B. Bietti IRCCS, Rome, Italy) to develop methods of analysis of retinal images acquired with an AO retinal camera (rtx1) in patients.
Jobs Requirements
Candidates must have a PhD degree in physics or computer or electronic engineer or a related field, have experience in image processing, optical design and writing of research papers. Previous experience in the field of Vision Science will be preferred.
The applicant will work with individuals from different backgrounds including clinicians and engineers. This position will be co-supervised by an ophthalmologist with experience in adaptive optics retinal imaging (Dr. Marco Lombardo, MD, PhD) and a biomedical engineer (Giuseppe Lombardo, MEng, PhD).
